California on the Horizon…

I’m off to Santa Barbara for a conference and San Francisco for r&r.

It’s just now become warm in Toronto, and the outdoor cafe’s are full to the brim, but I don’t care. After weeks of marking, months of teaching and a year of being a cog in a wheel…

I’m ready for fun, sun, good food, great art, and the loose and lovely company of my SF friends and colleagues.

Any recs anyone? Any art I should see, food I should eat, theatre I should check out?

I don’t have much time for research this time, so anything, from Hole in the Wall to Fancy, is appreciated….

Thi liminal time, between teaching and summer, is full of slips and slides and procrastination. My body is adjusting, and all hell is breaking loose along my spine! It’s a good time to head to ocean and the company of scholars, followed by the urban oasis that is San Francisco, my queer home-away-from home.
