Spring Light

Morning’s suprise of
shy
slanting light
could break
or open

memory,
possibility
and all of spring’s frail gifts
artichokes cherry blossom
asparagus rhubarb
bright shadow
lemony light

walking slow with my love
through a pointillist field
of faithful uncertain green.
